We're seeking an experienced Hardware Pre‑Sales Engineer to be the technical expert driving hardware solutions for our customers. In this role, you'll bridge the gap between complex technical capabilities and real‑world business needs, partnering with our sales team to deliver compelling demonstrations and solutions that transform warehouse and manufacturing operations.
As our Hardware Pre‑Sales Engineer, you'll showcase RF‑SMART's wireless data collection hardware integrated with leading ERP platforms (Dynamics AX, NetSuite, Oracle Cloud, JDE), helping prospective customers envision how our solutions will solve their toughest operational challenges.
What You'll Do :
Solution Design & Demonstration (Primary Focus)
Deliver tailored product demonstrations that showcase how RF‑SMART hardware solves specific customer pain points and drives business outcomes
Design custom hardware solutions aligned to prospects' unique warehouse and manufacturing environments
Configure and provision demonstration equipment, including AIDC hardware, label printers, and Telnet software (Velocity, StayLinked)
Act as the technical voice throughout the sales cycle, translating customer requirements into actionable solutions
Collaborate with the Hardware Sales team to develop compelling proposals and respond to RFPs with technical expertise
Serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance on product configuration, integration, and implementation feasibility
Conduct requirements gathering, business analysis, and warehouse environment assessments
Recommend optimal equipment configurations based on customer needs and use cases
Implementation Support
Provide technical assistance during implementations for direct customers and RF‑SMART Reseller/Implementation Partners
Deliver pre‑ and post‑sales technical support to ensure customer success
Coordinate with partners to establish clear demonstration expectations and deployment strategies
Hardware Operations
Manage the demo device pool for the Hardware team
Configure and administer AIDC hardware and label printers
Maintain deep technical knowledge of RF‑SMART products, staying current on new features and capabilities
What You Bring :
Required Qualifications
7+ years
providing technical pre‑sales support and solutions in a B2B environment
Hands‑on experience
with AIDC barcoding hardware (Honeywell, Zebra, Datalogic)
Deep knowledge
of WMS and wireless data collection solutions
Proven ability
to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across customers and partners
Strong communication skills
with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Self‑directed work style
with comfort working independently and on customer sites
Availability
for occasional interstate/international travel ( Bonus Points For
Extensive warehouse and manufacturing operations experience
Mobile Device Management (MDM) software expertise
Wireless networking knowledge, including site surveys and installation (Cisco, Aruba)
Experience with ERP platforms (Dynamics AX, NetSuite, Oracle Cloud, JDE)
