Senior Inside Sales Manager – Responsibilities

Recruit, train, and manage a team of Inside Sales Representatives to deliver exceptional customer engagement and compliantly achieve sales objectives.

Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration.

Coach, develop and manage the Inside Sales team to consistently meet and exceed defined sales goals, activity expectations, and KPIs through clear communication, accountability and ongoing feedback.

Partner with HR to evaluate, develop, and retain top talent within the Inside Sales organization.

Sales Strategy and Execution

Develop and execute business plans to drive product adoption, align with brand strategy, and complement field sales efforts.

Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Field Sales Leadership to ensure consistent and compliant messaging and customer experience.

Monitor team performance using data and analytics; identify trends, coach for improvement, and share best practices across the organization.

Maintain a strong understanding of product, disease state, and market dynamics to lead meaningful, customer‑centered sales conversations.

Training and Capability Development

As a member of the Training team, design and deliver onboarding and ongoing skill development for Inside Sales and field sales teams.

Conduct live and virtual training sessions focused on the selling framework, scientific exchange, disease state education, and customer engagement aligned with Phathom’s brand strategy.

Support the development of training content that reflects best practices and insights from inside sales performance data.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Field Sales Leadership, Marketing, Compliance, Sales Operations, HR, and Legal, ensuring alignment across the commercial organization.

Partner closely with the Regional Sales Managers to ensure Inside Sales initiatives complement field execution and drive cohesive customer engagement.

Work with Commercial and Marketing leadership to ensure inside sales initiatives align with overall business goals and customer strategies.

Communicate strategies and results to key stakeholders; share success stories and lessons learned to strengthen the broader commercial organization.

Education & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, preferably inside sales, with at least 3‑5 years in leadership or training roles.

Training & Coaching: Strong experience in developing and delivering coaching or training programs.

CRM Proficiency: Advanced understanding of CRM tools (Veeva, Salesforce) and virtual engagement platforms (Teams, Zoom, Veeva Engage).

Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret performance metrics, identify trends, and develop data‑driven coaching plans.

Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of pharmaceutical compliance standards and promotional regulations.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Experience launching new products in competitive markets.

Previous experience in gastroenterology or a specialty therapeutic area preferred.

Experience building and managing a high‑performing sales or inside sales team preferred.

Demonstrated success partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Training, Sales Ops, and Compliance.

Familiarity with hybrid or virtual commercial models.

Annual Base Salary: $140,000 - $170,000
