This position is for a Principal Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience. At the Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate, you will work in hands‑on multi‑disciplinary teams to develop test solutions for all Raytheon products.
The role is 100% on site in Tucson, Arizona.

Typical work involves designing interface assemblies, selecting and integrating test instruments and environments, and developing test systems for lab engineering and factory production.
The candidate will contribute to all stages of test product development and maintain the technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
You will act as part of a team or independently to uncover and resolve issues related to development and implementation of test products.
What You Will Do:
Design, develop, and integrate Raytheon products within TEE in multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, circuit design, and analysis
Contribute to all stages of test product development and perform technical, cost, and schedule management of assigned projects
Act independently or with a team to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
Experience in electrical engineering design, including troubleshooting, analysis, and test
Proficiency with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, and Creo Schematic
Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters
Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics
Qualifications We Prefer:
Master of Science degree in STEM (ABET accreditation preferred)
Technical leadership experience in a multi‑disciplinary team environment
Experience in analog, digital, and/or RF design
Experience testing and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnects
Experience with integrated development environments and debugging tools for software troubleshooting
Self‑starter who can manage workload to meet deadlines
Team‑orientated with excellent technical writing and presentation skills
Leadership of single‑ or multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
Project management, bid, and proposal experience
Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques
Experience developing and implementing programming languages
Ability to adapt existing designs for new units under test (UUTs) and configurations
Root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting expertise
Knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems
