Summary The Jennings School District is seeking a dedicated Chief Academic Officer who will oversee Curriculum, Early Literacy, Technology, Data and Accountability, PCBL, and Professional Learning to enhance student achievement. Their responsibilities include ensuring curriculum aligns with state standards, managing academic budgets, supporting teachers through professional growth opportunities, and evaluating academic programs and staff performance. This role is a critical part of the district's leadership, reporting directly to the superintendent and helping to implement the district's educational vision.
Essential Functions
Oversee the development and implementation of the district's curriculum.
Support the use of innovative teaching methods and technologies.
Foster continuous professional growth for teachers through workshops, training, and other opportunities.
May oversee the evaluation of teachers to ensure consistent, high‑quality instruction.
Manage budgets for curriculum, professional development, and other academic resources.
Work to balance educational needs with available funding and seek external resources when possible.
Bridge the gaps in traditional methods by supporting different learning styles.
Create personalized, engaging learning environments through tools that offer tailored content.
Monitor and analyze student performance data to guide academic planning and improvements.
Ensure students meet academic skill requirements to succeed on standardized tests.
Support the Superintendent in overall district leadership.
Occasionally supervise other administrators, such as principals and curriculum coordinators.
