Job Title SAP IS-U Device Management Functional Consultant

Location Bellevue, WA (Local candidates only)

Job Type Contract

Base Pay Range $75.00/hr - $90.00/hr

Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP IS-U Device Management Functional Consultant to support a long-term utility transformation initiative focused on advanced metering, device lifecycle management, and Distributed Energy Resources (DER). This role will support analysis, configuration, testing, and delivery of SAP IS-U Device Management solutions across multiple project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, design, configure, and test SAP IS-U Device Management functionality

Configure technical master data, device master data, scheduling master data, and meter reading processes

Support device lifecycle, work management, and exception handling using EMMA/BPEM

Configure and support EDM profiles, TOU functionality, and interval data scenarios

Analyze and resolve issues related to device management, meter reading, and BPEM workflows

Support integration with Billing, Front Office, MDMS, AMI, Inventory Management, and Plant Maintenance

Support Net Metering, Aggregate Billing, and interval billing device scenarios

Participate in requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, SIT, UAT, deployment, and post-go-live support

Collaborate with cross-functional SMEs to assess downstream impacts of device and meter changes

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years

of hands‑on experience with SAP IS-U Device Management

Strong experience in:

Device master data and technical master data configuration

Meter reading and work management processes

EMMA/BPEM configuration and issue resolution

Integrating IS-U Device Management with Front Office, MDMS/AMI systems, Inventory Management and Plant Maintenance

TOU enablement and EDM profile configuration

Solid understanding of the IS-U data model and end‑to‑end utility processes

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills

Preferred Skills

Experience supporting Distributed Energy Resources (DER) initiatives

Exposure to:

Distributed Solar and Community Solar programs

Net Metering 2.0

Battery storage and demand response programs

EV fleet or depot charging solutions

Experience supporting billing standardization, audit initiatives, or time‑varying rates (TVR)

Prior experience in large utility or energy‑sector SAP programs

Project Context This role supports initiatives related to Distributed Energy Resources (DER), including renewable energy programs, battery storage, demand response, EV fleet charging, and billing standardization. The focus is on enabling accurate device and meter data capture to support complex billing and time‑varying rate structures across utility customers.
