Job Overview The Security Architect will embed security into solution architecture teams, representing Information Systems security policies, standards, and requirements. The role drives business agility, scalability, and resilience, ensuring secure designs from early stages.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, and engineering teams to ensure security requirements are understood and implemented early in the design process.

Advocate for a security‑by‑design approach in cloud and digital transformation initiatives.

Review and recommend architecture to ensure security controls are embedded into designs and patterns, as well as supporting scalability, reliability, and compliance.

Contribute to security patterns, guidelines, and reusable artifacts to support secure‑by‑design practices across teams.

Provide guidance on technology selection and operational processes for running systems in a cloud environment.

Participate in proof‑of‑concept efforts for new SaaS and IaaS applications to represent security requirements.

Required Experience

Minimum 8 years’ experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner.

Experience designing secure architectures for cloud and on‑premises solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and credibility across technical and business teams.

Must be able to present effectively to multiple audiences including firm‑wide business units, senior leaders, associates, and external vendors.

Ability to translate security requirements into actionable guidance for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience developing and applying cloud security policies and procedures.

Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).

Hands‑on experience and subject matter expertise with Microsoft Azure.

Preferred Experience

Working knowledge across infrastructure and application domains, including networking, storage, operating systems, IAM, privileged access management (PAM), single sign‑on (SSO), encryption standards, and vendor engagement.

Technology background in the financial sector.

Experience promoting secure‑by‑design principles in agile or DevOps environments.

Understanding of regulatory requirements and laws such as FINRA and NYCRR.

Certifications: Microsoft Architect, ISC2, or SANS.

Candidates living within commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ or St. Louis, MO offices are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
