Perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot within service‑level agreements.

Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and collaborate with the Facility Manager to set team culture.

Create and deploy new standard practices for technical staff and vendor support teams.

Assist in building new facilities and in projects to improve current facility efficiency.

Work outside normal hours for routine maintenance and respond to out‑of‑hours emergencies.

Communicate complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.

Coordinate projects with IT managers and business leaders, managing capacity and optimizing plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Ensure all safety procedures are followed by vendors and Amazon staff.

Establish building performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility operations and maintenance.

Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other basic administrative tools for day‑to‑day tasks.

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift or move up to 39 lb independently; participate in group lifts of 40 lb or more.

Operate safely on ladders and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.

Walk, use hands and fingers, and perform tasks such as reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, bending, and carrying or pushing objects into position.

Use ear protection in environments requiring it.

Day in the Life The CE acts as Amazon’s front line for hands‑on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, maintaining critical data center equipment such as stand‑by diesel generators, 3‑phase electrical systems, UPS units, PDUs, wet cell batteries, CRAHU units, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors. The CE directs, trains, and supports technicians, implements site‑specific training, and manages projects from conception to completion. Projects involve collaboration with engineering, automation, processing, finance, and global teams, with milestone tracking, cost quoting, and documentation for future implementation.
