Hr Generalist
We are working with a client in the transportation industry who is looking for an HR Generalist to join our team in Fridley, Minnesota. In this contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with a wide range of human resources functions, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and fostering a supportive workplace culture. This role requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and the ability to navigate complex HR matters effectively. The work model is onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including equipment allocation and orientation, as well as manage offboarding procedures.
- Provide support in handling employee relations matters and disciplinary actions in alignment with company policies.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, compliance, renewals, and communication of options.
- Lead benefit open enrollment processes and collaborate with brokers to ensure smooth implementation.
- Ensure adherence to local employment laws and regulations while maintaining company compliance.
- Maintain accurate employee records and required documentation to support HR operations.
- Respond to unemployment claims and represent the company during hearings as needed.
- Manage employee leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison for office vendors and services, ensuring smooth operations.
- Assist with organizing employee events, special projects, and other HR initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of comprehensive HR Generalist experience across various functional areas.
- Experience in benefits administration, including open enrollment processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and provide hands-on support.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently without extensive guidance.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other HR systems.
- Customer-service orientation with a proactive approach to assisting staff.
- Knowledge and experience in handling employee relations, onboarding, and HR documentation.
