About the Opportunity

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring an HR Generalist for an electronics manufacturing company in Fridley, MN. In this role, were looking for an HR Generalist who is passionate about supporting employees and handling core HR tasks. Youll assist with onboarding, benefits, and employee relations to ensure a positive work environment. Read below for more information!

What Youll Do as an HR Generalist:

  1. Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
  2. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  3. Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  4. Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  5. Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  6. Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  7. Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  8. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
  9. Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

What You Need to Bring to the HR Generalist Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 1-3 years of Human Resource experience
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
