Renewable Energy Partners Inc is an established and growing commercial solar company. We are looking to add a highly organized and motivated
Solar and Battery O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Manager
to the REP family. This candidate will have a versatile role on the team and will work alongside the Project Manager, Construction Superintendent, and our Procurement and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing daily operations and maintenance: Ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operation of solar and battery assets, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing corrective actions.
Handle new non‑company installed or owned O&M inquiries: Price, propose, and manage new 3rd party O&M inquiries to grow the O&M Division.
SCREC sales: Manage relationship with WREGIS, aggregator vendor, and customer for sale of Solar Renewable Energy Credits. Work with accounting department when transactions take place.
Preventive and corrective maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and repairs to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.
Troubleshooting and resolving system faults: Diagnose and resolve issues in electrical, mechanical, and SCADA systems, addressing faults promptly.
Team and RMA vendor management: Coordinate technicians and subcontractors, provide training, ensure adherence to safety procedures, enforce a culture of safety.
Performance monitoring and analysis: Utilize SCADA and other monitoring platforms to track system performance, evaluate output, identify opportunities for optimization.
Budget and resource management: Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance logs, ensure efficient allocation of resources, adhere to budget constraints.
Compliance and safety: Ensure adherence to relevant electrical codes (NEC, NESC), safety regulations (OSHA), environmental regulations, contractual agreements, and industry best practices.
Reporting and documentation: Prepare and present technical reports, performance analysis, maintain detailed records of O&M activities and data.
Stakeholder collaboration: Work with internal teams (engineering, operations, CEO), external partners (vendors, clients), providing updates and information as required.
QA/QC inspections and commissioning: Lead quality assurance checks, system commissioning, diagnostics.
Development support: Assist with technical due diligence, risk assessment, and design specification development for new projects, especially for pre‑operational assets.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of solar PV systems, BESS (some), inverters, combiner boxes, and electrical systems up to 1000 VDC and 480 VAC.
O&M experience: 5–8 years hands‑on experience in operations and maintenance of commercial or residential battery energy storage systems.
SCADA and monitoring platforms: Strong working knowledge of SCADA and performance monitoring platforms used in renewable energy systems.
Troubleshooting and problem‑solving: Excellent diagnostic skills to identify, analyze, and resolve technical faults and system malfunctions.
Leadership and team management: Proven ability to lead and motivate a technician team (currently 1–2), provide training, ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
Communication and reporting: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reports, stakeholder communication, and clear instruction to teams.
Analytical skills: Ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and implement solutions to optimize system efficiency.
Relevant education/certifications: Technical degree (electrical engineering, renewable energy) or related certifications such as NABCEP or OSHA 30 preferred.
Work Environment This role often involves a combination of office‑based work (data analysis, reporting, management) and fieldwork at various regional project sites.
Compensation
$80 k–$110 k
Full‑time Monday‑Friday
Vacation (after one year), 7 paid holidays
