The opportunity EY is a leader in serving the global financial services marketplace and the only professional services firm with a separate business unit dedicated to the financial services industry – the Financial Services Organization (FSO). We invite you to join our Insurance Tax practice as a Captive Insurance Consultant (Manager), focusing on captive insurance tax engagements. You will work on feasibility and optimization projects, provide tax consulting memos and opinions, and build strong client relationships.
Your Key Responsibilities
Oversee preparation and delivery of captive insurance feasibility studies and utilization projects.
Develop captive insurance tax consulting memos and tax opinions.
Manage client relationships, staffing, and economics of engagements.
Analyze engagement results to enhance client service and satisfaction.
Skills and Attributes for Success To qualify for the role
Bachelor's Degree
CPA or licensed Attorney
Experience or knowledge of captive insurance companies
5‑10 years of experience in accounting or taxation for insurance companies
Ideally, you will also have
Understanding of GAAP / statutory accounting principles
Basic understanding of ASC 740 / SSAP 101
Experience in preparing tax returns
Experience in state and local taxation (e.g., state return compliance, state income tax accounting, state apportionment fundamentals)
Self‑motivation, critical thinking, and eagerness to build a professional network
Ability to lead a team of professionals and identify new business opportunities
