as a part‑time Pediatrician in the HEAL Program, providing medical care to adolescents in NYC custody across secure detention sites, school‑based health centers, and non‑secure sites.
Pay Base pay range: $104.40/hr – $104.40/hr.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 medical care at two secure detention sites and two school‑based health centers.
Conduct comprehensive medical and dental screenings, vaccinations, routine testing, and immediate care responses.
Take patient history, diagnose, develop and implement treatment plans.
Perform well‑care examinations, including gynecological evaluations.
Write prescriptions, obtain parent/guardian consent, and manage medication distribution.
Complete medical forms, documentation, Court Orders, and ACS mandated paperwork.
Make referrals to other agencies and providers; follow up on care.
Assist with phlebotomy and administer immunizations as needed.
Provide health education on preventive medicine, chronic disease counseling, prenatal care, nutrition, family‑planning, medication usage, and stress management.
Participate in patient outreach, case conferences, and medical protocol development with the Medical Director.
Qualifications & services
Work locations: Crossroads Juvenile Center and/or Horizon Juvenile Center.
Schedule: 21 hours per week—day, overnight, and weekend shifts.
Safety and security protocols paramount in all patient care activities.
Ability to evaluate and treat ACS employees only on an emergent basis.
