Overview The Gainesville Regional Airport is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the management, operation, and development of Gainesville Regional Airport. Reporting to the Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority, this role oversees all airport functions with a focus on safety, efficiency, financial stewardship, and long-term growth. The CEO ensures the airport meets regulatory requirements, advances aviation activity, and serves the region with high-quality facilities and services. This position calls for a strategic and engaged leader who can guide operations, support a committed workforce, and foster strong partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Airport Administration, or related field; a master’s degree is preferred.

Eight (8) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible airport administration experience.

An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered.

Strong knowledge of airport operations, financial management, regulatory requirements, and capital program planning.

Experience in aviation business development or industrial land development is beneficial.

FAA pilot’s license and AAAE A.A.E. designation are desirable.
