Sierra ITS
Vice President of Information Technology - Hybrid, Downtown Chicago, IL
We’ve been retained by a premier international professional society with a mission to shape professional standards and catalyze innovation across the healthcare ecosystem. They need a thoughtful and savvy technology leader who knows that IT isn’t just about systems – it’s about people. As Vice President of Information Technology, you’ll sit at the executive table and shape how technology enables a global professional organization serving more than 48,000 healthcare leaders. You’ll balance strategy and execution, stability and innovation, vision and pragmatism. One day you may be guiding enterprise architecture decisions; the next, navigating sensitive tradeoffs that don’t show up neatly on an org chart.
This role spans enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, digital workplace, Salesforce, vendors, budgets, and a talented internal team. There’s meaningful complexity here: legacy systems, modern expectations, mission‑driven priorities, and challenges that require judgment, discretion, and strong executive presence. If you’ve led IT at a senior level, enjoy operating in the gray space between technology and leadership, and are curious about a role with real depth, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
Your Mission:
Setting and executing enterprise‑wide IT strategy
Owning Salesforce as a strategic system (and making it actually work)
Leading and evolving core platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital workplace tools
Partnering closely with executive leadership on priorities, risk, and investment decisions
Building, mentoring, and retaining a high‑performing IT team
Managing vendors, budgets, and complex technology tradeoffs with sound judgment
Your Background:
Senior IT leadership experience with real decision‑making authority and a true enterprise mindset
Deep and strategic Salesforce leadership expertise (this is essential)
Strong command of cloud platforms, modern enterprise architecture, and Microsoft 365
Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, change, and competing priorities
Solid grounding in cybersecurity, data protection, and risk management
Executive presence, discretion, and the ability to operate confidently in the gray areas
Master’s degree highly preferred
Your Reward:
Base salary up to $250k plus annual bonus (~20%) and outstanding benefits
Hybrid work schedule (2/3 days per week in downtown Chicago)
An organization that needs you and your abilities
Important: We will consider only local applicants (current Chicago area residents) and will not respond to third parties.
