3+ Year Patent Litigation Associate – Technology & Life Sciences | Chicago, IL
A growing intellectual property litigation practice is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience to join its Chicago office. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact IP disputes across technology and life sciences for sophisticated clients. This position is actively interviewing.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in complex patent and intellectual property litigation matters.
Collaborate with experienced litigators to develop and execute case strategies.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Participate in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
Manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Qualifications
Minimum of three years of patent litigation experience.
Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, chemistry, biology, physics, or a related technical field.
Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and independently.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
Admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois.
Skills
Proficiency in legal research and persuasive legal writing.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively within litigation teams.
Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
