Introduction
Our client is a full‑service veterinary hospital in West Los Angeles seeking a Medical Director. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a veterinarian who is passionate about high‑quality medicine and building a strong, collaborative practice culture. The hospital provides comprehensive care for cats and dogs, including wellness exams, preventive services, dentistry, surgery, and urgent daytime care.
Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and closed on Sundays. The Medical Director role is full‑time and requires a consistent presence to oversee both clinical and operational aspects of the hospital.
Role Description and Responsibilities
Mentor veterinarians and support the professional development of staff.
Ensure medical protocols are upheld to the highest standard.
Provide clinical care including wellness and preventive care, dentistry, internal medicine, surgery, geriatric care, and daytime emergency cases.
Oversee hospital operations and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
Practice Details The hospital is a modern, full‑service veterinary clinic offering vaccinations and prevention, routine exams, internal medicine, dental care, geriatric care, and services for puppies and kittens. Additional services include cold laser therapy, surgery, and daytime emergency care. The practice is equipped with in‑house diagnostics, including digital radiography, ultrasound, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, ECG/EKG, and digital dental x‑rays.
Team The practice currently has 1 DVM supported by a dedicated veterinary team. The Medical Director will play a key role in expanding and mentoring the team while driving the growth and success of the hospital.
Candidate Requirements
Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America.
Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain a state license for the state they are applying to work in.
Must have the right to work in the United States of America, or be able to obtain the required visa to do so.
Package
Salary up to $250,000 (annual)
$225k–$250k base salary + production
Up to $100k signing bonus
$10k Medical Director stipend
4 weeks PTO
