Our client is a hospital hiring for a Medical Director Veterinarian. Located in Lawrenceburg, Indiana—just 15 minutes from downtown Cincinnati—this small animal general practice has been serving the community for over 50 years. The clinic is seeking a compassionate and experienced leader to guide its dedicated team and shape the future of its growing practice.
Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. It is closed on Sundays. The Medical Director role is a full‑time position offering a consistent schedule and work‑life balance.
Role Description and Responsibilities
Lead the hospital’s clinical and operational efforts, overseeing medical protocols, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of care.
Provide clinical duties including general practice veterinary care, emergency services, surgery, dentistry, and advanced diagnostics.
Maintain a hands‑on presence in patient care while exercising leadership and strategic vision.
Encourage a collaborative and compassionate approach, empowering medical leaders to practice medicine their way.
Practice Details The facility is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, an advanced dental suite with digital dental X‑rays and high‑speed equipment, and comprehensive pain‑management tools. The hospital offers both routine and emergency services, supporting a well‑rounded and engaging caseload.
Team The practice currently home to two DVMs and a supportive team. The work environment is collaborative and values mentorship, professional autonomy, and compassionate care.
Candidate Requirements
Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States.
Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain a state license for the state they are applying to work in.
Must have the right to work in the United States, or be able to obtain the required visa.
Salary & Benefits Salary: up to $160,000 (Annual). Base salary $120‑160k, sign‑on bonus up to $80k, CE allowance.
