About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in our Financial Management Division is responsible for the overall fiscal health of the agency. The CFO provides strategic leadership to the financial management team and the agency, ensures revenues and expenses stay in balance, oversees financial planning and analysis, identifies funding opportunities, serves as a sounding board for executive leadership, sets financial policy, and mitigates risk.
The CFO also provides strategic financial leadership for the agency, contributing to long‑ and short‑term planning, policy development, and performance management. The CFO monitors financial health, assesses program and regulatory impacts, and establishes corrective measures to ensure fiscal stability. This role leads the development and submission of the biennial budget, oversees financial reporting, and manages cash flow and revenue forecasting to support agency operations.
The CFO also provides legislative and audit support, including preparation and reviewing fiscal notes, representing the agency at hearings, advising the Audit Coordination Committee, and overseeing fraud risk assessment and mitigation. Additionally, the CFO directs the Procurement and Information Technology sections. The CFO ensures effective project management, procurement, budgeting, and the implementation of innovative technology initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a closely related field.
Certified Public Accountant certification.
Eight years of professional accounting experience, of which three years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Ability to lead and guide a finance team and drive budget and financial management strategy.
Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
