About Pearson
At Pearson, we are committed to helping people make progress in their lives through learning. We create innovative and accessible educational products and services that foster personal and professional growth.
About the Job
We embrace the SVPG Product Operating Model by empowering our product teams to solve hard customer and business problems in ways that our customers love and that work for our business. Product teams are cross‑functional and typically include a product manager, product designer, tech lead, and program manager (4‑in‑a‑box model). The product manager leads the product manager role, ensuring the solution is valuable and viable while collaborating closely with designers and engineers to ensure usability and feasibility.
Responsibilities
The product manager must contribute a solid understanding of business constraints (marketing, sales, support, finance, legal, privacy), deep knowledge of users and customers, and data on how customers engage with our products. They should track industry trends and competitive landscape, collaborate with the product designer and engineers, and deliver solutions to market. The role requires influence, data‑driven decision making, and a willingness to drive results even when they must navigate through other teams.
Necessary Qualifications Proven track record over multiple years as an individual contributor product manager responsible for value and viability of solutions
Proven ability to quickly learn new domains and solid understanding of all major parts of the business
Demonstrated understanding of modern product discovery and delivery techniques
Demonstrated ability to learn multiple functional areas (engineering, design, finance, sales, marketing)
Proven ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, laying out arguments in a clear, data‑informed narrative
Proven ability to engage with both individuals and leaders at all levels in constructive collaborations
Responsible for assisting with quarterly strategic planning, defining OKRs, and developing a roadmap
Proven ability to own a strategic pillar and develop and secure buy‑in for a product strategy based on that pillar
Compensation
The minimum full‑time salary range is $165,000 – $185,000, influenced by skill set, level of experience and location. The position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
Benefits & Application Window
Information on benefits offered is available on the company site. Applications will be accepted through December 22nd; this window may be extended depending on business needs.
