Luma AI .
About Luma AI Luma is building multimodal AI to expand human imagination. We are a team of builders and researchers working at the frontier of generative technology. We operate in a unique position: we have the agility and impact of a startup, backed by the massive compute resources and funding ($1.4B+) of a major lab and product company.
Where You Come In We are looking for a Strategic Technical Sourcer who understands the DNA of a true Product Builder. The talent we need can architect agentic systems, blend React with high‑fidelity polish, and invent new creative workflows. You will be the architect of our Product Engineering top‑of‑funnel. You will move beyond keyword matching to map the teams behind the world’s best creative tools, uncover hidden builders, and identify the talent that is invisible to traditional recruiters. You will work side‑by‑side with our Engineering leaders to find the top talent that can turn frontier research into magical user experiences.
What You’ll Do
Architect the Builder Search: Design complex sourcing strategies to target engineers at product‑led companies and AI startups. You know exactly which teams at these companies cultivate the talent we need.
Force Multiply with AI: You use AI/LLMs and automation tools to gather data, analyze portfolios, and personalize outreach at scale.
Source Beyond LinkedIn: You will hunt where builders live. You will dig to find engineers building their own AI agents, analyze top consumer apps, and review personal portfolios to find exactly who our team needs to succeed.
Filter for 0‑to‑1 DNA: You won’t just look for years of experience. You will screen for the specific engineers who have shipped entire products from scratch, navigated ambiguity, and care about the user experience as much as the code.
Market Intel as Code: You will track talent migration patterns in the creative tools and consumer AI space, advising Engineering Directors on where the best product talent is hiding and how to win them.
Partner with Engineering Leadership: You will attend calibration meetings with Product Engineering Leads, serving as a strategic advisor who understands the nuances of the relevant experience.
Who You Are
Technically Fluent: You speak the stack. You know the nuance between an Engineer who optimizes databases and one who builds APIs for user features. You understand the ecosystems around TypeScript/React, Swift, Python, AI Agents, and Multimodal Systems.
The Detective: You love the thrill of the hunt. You get genuinely excited when you find a Design Engineer who has a stunning personal website or an engineer who has built a popular open‑source tool on the side.
AI Power User: You are technically savvy and embrace AI tools to gain leverage. You automate the mundane parts of sourcing to focus on high‑signal engagement.
High Agency: You thrive in ambiguity. If a search for a niche role isn’t working, you proactively identify adjacent pools of talent and pivot the strategy.
Resilient & Data‑Driven: You treat sourcing like a funnel optimization problem. You track your conversion rates and constantly refine your pitch based on what resonates with top‑tier builders.
What Sets You Apart (Bonus Points)
Creative Tools Expertise: Direct experience sourcing for companies in the creative, video, or design tooling space.
Portfolio Hunter: A proven track record of assessing candidates based on what they have built and shipped (links to apps, repos, websites) rather than just where they worked.
Automation Chops: Experience writing simple scripts or using no‑code workflows to scrape and enrich candidate data.
Startup DNA: Experience in a hyper‑growth environment where you helped scale a product engineering team from scratch.
