Job Description:

Pay Range: $19.93hr - $22.17hr
  • The Phlebotomist II serves as a primary point of contact for patients and is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.
  • This role requires direct patient interaction, clear communication of procedures, and the ability to perform collections safely, accurately, and professionally while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy. Assignments may vary based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing activities accurately and on time under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment.
  • Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient confirmation after venipuncture to ensure proper specimen labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
  • Promote a positive and professional image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and variable schedules as needed.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple locations as required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer focus and clear communication skills.
Experience:
  • Experience in phlebotomy, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work collaboratively with peers and supervisors.
Qualification And Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
