About the role We are seeking an
AI Lead
to drive the strategic, compliant, and scalable use of artificial intelligence across our US Medical Communications agency. This role sits at the intersection of medical content, client strategy, digital innovation, and governance, ensuring AI enhances scientific quality, efficiency, and insight while meeting US regulatory and compliance standards. This is not a purely technical role. You will focus on AI strategy, use-case development, governance, enablement, and client-facing innovation within a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities AI strategy & leadership Define and lead the agency’s AI strategy and roadmap for the US market Identify, prioritize, and scale AI use cases across medical writing, scientific services, insights, and operations Serve as the internal AI subject matter expert for Med Comms leadership and client teams Medical & content enablement Partner with medical writers, editors, strategists, and account teams to embed AI into content workflows Ensure AI use supports scientific rigor, critical appraisal, and storytelling, not content automation alone Develop standards for AI-assisted literature review, data synthesis, content drafting, and insight generation Governance, compliance & risk Establish and oversee AI governance frameworks aligned with: FDA promotional regulations HIPAA and data privacy requirements Client-specific compliance and SOPs Define validation, documentation, auditability, and acceptable-use guidelines for AI tools Monitor evolving US guidance and industry expectations around AI in healthcare communications Client engagement & growth Support client discussions on AI-enabled medical and scientific solutions Contribute to pitches, proposals, and innovation-led client engagements Act as a trusted advisor on responsible AI use in US pharma and biotech communications Training, change & adoption Lead AI education, training, and change management across US teams Build confidence and capability in both medical and non-medical roles Foster a culture of experimentation grounded in compliance and quality
