Our partner client is seeking a hands‑on General Manager / Business Operations Leader to set the tone for the organization and serve as the financial, operational, and cultural anchor of the business.
This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who blends strong financial acumen, people leadership, and business judgment in a collaborative, low‑turnover environment.
What This Role Does
Sets the “temperature” for the entire company and leads by example
Oversees office and business operations; shop manager handles hourly production staff
Maintains daily presence on the shop floor through walk‑throughs, engagement, and visibility
Leads with a servant‑leadership mindset and high emotional intelligence
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Culture
Lead, mentor, and support office staff with an open‑door, accessible style
Navigate a variety of personalities while maintaining morale in a fast‑paced environment
Act as the organization’s cultural anchor—professional, steady, and approachable
Finance & Business Operations
Own and interpret financials and P&L; use data to guide business decisions
Understand how financial performance tells the story of the business
Partner with an affiliated organization on taxes, insurance, and financial analytics
Set pricing and rate structures based on margins, market conditions, and customer mix
Lead high‑level discussions with suppliers, mills, and key customers
Engage with a global customer base and speak confidently to market dynamics
Limited travel required, primarily when customer or supplier presence is needed
Ensure strong alignment between estimating and sales teams across affiliated entities
Operational & Strategic Oversight
Forward‑looking leader who can evaluate upcoming quarters and plan accordingly
Strong organizational and analytical mindset
Job shop manufacturing environment is helpful for this role, but not required.
