Role:

Vice President of Engineering

We are partnered with an ambitious early‑stage startup, pushing the boundaries of space technology. This is a rare opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a company building the next generation of satellite systems, from prototype to flight‑ready solutions.

As

VP of Engineering , you’ll lead a small but growing team of engineers across multiple disciplines—mechanical, thermal, avionics, propulsion, software, and more—guiding system design, integration, and validation. You’ll collaborate closely with product, operations, and other engineering leaders to deliver transformative technology while defining the processes, culture and architecture that will scale with the company.

What You’ll Do

Lead, inspire, and scale a multi‑disciplinary engineering team, growing talent and fostering innovation.

Drive end‑to‑end system design, integration, testing, and deployment of satellites / propulsion platforms.

Collaborate with leadership to define technical and non‑technical requirements, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.

Perform feasibility studies, mission analysis, and system modeling to inform development decisions.

Support business development with technical insights, proposals, and documentation.

Establish best practices for engineering processes, quality, and risk management.

Act as a central communication point between teams, project managers, and stakeholders.

Lead all aspects of lifecycle management from requirements definition through AIT, launch and operations.

Guide the team in deep understanding of system‑level trade‑offs and holistic engineering thinking.

Provide mentorship, leadership, and communication to ensure high performance.

Work at the cutting edge of space technology with a highly motivated, interdisciplinary team.

Opportunity to define the engineering culture, processes and architecture from the ground up.

Collaborate across disciplines to make a real impact on future space missions.

Qualifications

15+ years of experience in complex systems engineering, ideally in spacecraft, satellite or advanced propulsion projects.

Proven experience leading and scaling mid‑sized engineering teams.

Broad, end‑to‑end technical expertise across multiple subsystems and disciplines.

Strong commercial space industry experience, ideally from a space prime or leading supplier.

Experience in satellite or in‑orbit platform development.

Exposure to high‑growth startups and fast‑moving technical environments.

Knowledge of space industry standards (NASA, ECSS) and mission analysis.

Experience in establishing engineering culture, processes and architecture.

Inclusive, dynamic, and ambitious work environment where your ideas are heard and valued.

Benefits

Competitive benefits, relocation support, and a team that celebrates successes — big or small.
