VP of Engineering ⚡
Role:
VP of Engineering
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished engineering leader to spearhead the technical strategy and execution for a rapidly growing space‑systems company. The organization designs and operates agile autonomous satellites that support space domain awareness, in‑orbit services, and next‑generation orbital infrastructure. Their vertically integrated approach—combining spacecraft, sensing technology, and mission software—positions them at the forefront of the emerging in‑space services sector.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the engineering organization across spacecraft, software, and mission systems, ensuring cohesive strategy and execution.
Drive end‑to‑end development of satellites and supporting infrastructure; from concept and design through manufacturing, testing, and launch readiness.
Build, mentor, and scale a high‑performing multidisciplinary engineering team.
Collaborate with product, operations, and executive leadership to define long‑term technical roadmaps and program priorities.
Establish engineering processes, quality standards, and execution frameworks that support rapid development and high reliability.
Oversee technical risk assessment, mitigation planning, and system‑level engineering decisions.
Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and vendor/partner relationships.
Support customer and government program delivery by ensuring technical requirements are met and milestones are achieved.
Qualifications
10+ years of Aerospace engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior technical leadership roles.
Proven track record delivering complex hardware or aerospace systems (e.g., satellites, robotics, autonomous platforms).
Strong systems‑engineering understanding, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, GNC, mission ops).
Experience leading full product lifecycles; design, development, testing, and deployment.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field required; Master’s preferred.
Experience scaling engineering organizations in fast‑growing, technology‑driven environments is a strong plus.
Familiarity with government programs, defense customers, or regulated environments is beneficial.
