The Manager of Engineering leads Tegre’s multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver exceptional project execution and client consulting. This role champions a culture of ownership and accountability in engineering excellence, applicable code, and jurisdictional compliance. This role reports to the company president and is part of the engineering and design leadership.
Responsibilities

Coach and develop technical competence and culture of ownership and accountability consistent with Tegre’s guiding principles: Integrity, Respect, Responsibility.
Oversee project execution, ensuring engineering deliverables meet quality expectations and are delivered within allotted hours and schedule.
Support discipline leads in coordinating workloads and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
Build and maintain healthy internal team and project interfaces to minimize rework and meet deliverable schedules.
In conjunction with the Engineer SME(s) on the team: develop, implement, and maintain company engineering standards, oversee technical design reviews, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and regulations.
Establish, update, maintain, and train team members on engineering and QA/QC tools, practices, and procedures.
Ensure State Professional Engineering registration requirements for the firm and engineers are managed and in compliance with the intent of each state body.
Stay current with industry trends, codes, standards, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including leveraging technology to improve efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Cultivate strong client relationships.
Assist with project scope development, budget estimates, and provide technical expertise to help secure project work.
Seek input from management, project managers/engineers, and discipline leads for lessons learned and implement plans for continuous improvement.
Assist the hiring and managing sub-consultants and vendors.
Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the ability to obtain licenses in other states.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering.
10+ years leading multi-discipline engineering teams (process, mechanical, civil/structural, EIC/Power).
Experience in onshore oil & gas upstream/midstream/downstream facility engineering consulting and EPC projects preferred. Exposure to RNG, carbon capture, and other process-based alternative energy solutions is a bonus.
Candidates with a strong client and technical resource network
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of managing a team and delivering high-quality services.
Experience managing distributed teams and remote collaboration.
Proven ability to adapt and effectively, professionally, and efficiently manage in a fast-paced project environment, and ability to use critical thinking skills under pressure.
0-25% travel required depending on project mix.
