The SCADA Engineer will design and implement SCADA systems for renewable energy projects, working with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient and reliable operation of our assets. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain SCADA systems for renewable energy projects (wind, solar, battery storage). Provide SCADA support during development, construction, and commissioning of renewable plants. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders for successful project execution. Provide SCADA design guidance during development of construction. Verify design criteria and scope of work for compliance with company and third‑party requirements. Support and validate engineering studies, specifications, and performance assessments for SCADA systems. Ensure SCADA design and RTU configurations meet company and third‑party requirements. Support SCADA testing during commissioning. Provide SCADA technical assistance to Repsol’s Asset Management, OT, Remote Operations Control Center, Construction, Interconnections, Development, and other teams. Work with OT team to incorporate remote data requirements into the EMS/SCADA system. Ensure compliance with cyber security and OT requirements. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance for optimal performance. Comply with Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements. Travel up to 20% of the time. Requirements and Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or similar. 3+ years as SCADA/OT/Control Systems Engineer focused on renewable projects. Experience with Solar, Wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems. Experience configuring SCADA systems for electric grid monitoring, protection, and control. Proficiency with SCADA software/hardware (Wonderware, Ignition, SEL, etc.). Knowledge of networking practices for substation and SCADA equipment. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems. Knowledge of SCADA systems for renewables, with ability to supervise design and commissioning. Knowledge of protective systems and associated electrical infrastructure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform under high pressure while staying calm. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information. Proficiency with personal computers and automated tools. Engineering experience specific to utility‑scale renewable projects. Experience with DAQ, RTU, IED, and PLC technologies.
