Head of Academic Innovation, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $400,000/year USD
We’re looking for a visionary leader who can build and scale a transformative academic program that empowers students to master academics in just two hours a day.
Base pay range $200.00/hr - $200.00/hr
What You Will Be Doing
Develop academic frameworks that convert learning science principles into actionable guidance for curriculum design, student motivation systems, and instructional technology.
Conduct academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to drive alignment, accountability, and consistent delivery across school teams.
Analyze data, conduct interviews, and perform observations to generate academic ecosystem assessments that identify high-impact barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
Ensure strategic coherence through planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on learning objectives.
Serve as 2 Hour Learning’s principal spokesperson at the highest forums, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education to influence systemic transformation in global education thinking.

Work on fragmented curriculum initiatives that lack systemic impact.
Produce theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or practical execution.
Transfer accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.
Depend on institutional reputation or academic theory to convince critical audiences.
Head Of Academic Innovation Key Responsibilities Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning’s validated academic model by harmonizing execution across all school sites, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement anchored in rigorous science and demonstrated outcomes.
Basic Requirements
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field.
7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes.
Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning.
Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising.
Strong performance management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar.
Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions.
Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders.
Nice-to-have Requirements
Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech venture.
Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts.
Deep familiarity with Bloom’s 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks.

Working with us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
