The salary range for this position is $36.50 - $58.40 per hour.
Placement within the salary range depends on experience and internal equity. For union positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.

Description The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Advocate for patients by practicing patient‑centered care and developing individualized, culturally sensitive nursing plans of care.
Integrate the role of patient advocate into the plan of care and use a team approach to achieve daily patient‑centered individualized care goals.
Identify potential conflict situations and facilitate resolution using established communication channels.
Promote and protect the health, safety and rights of patients by maintaining a safe environment.
Advance clinical expertise through continuing education, specialty certification when eligible, and sharing knowledge with team members, patients and students.
Assess and document patients’ responses to nursing interventions and modify the plan of care based on evaluation findings.
Escalate situations that require further intervention and consult appropriate experts and resources when needed.
Participate in the formation, implementation, and evaluation of team goals and support safe and effective care.
Maintain professional engagement by serving as a mentor, preceptor, and participating in peer feedback and unit quality improvement projects.
Qualifications Required
Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher
Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association
Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative)
Oral, listening and written communication skills
Strong human relation skills for effective collaboration in difficult situations
Keyboard and data entry proficiency
Preferred
Experience in specific clinical area
Nursing specialty certification, if eligible
