An international firm headquartered in Chicago, IL is hiring a Senior Accountant. This individual will work closely alongside a team and report to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
Actively participate and manage the month/year end close
Prepare & review journal entries, monthly draws, quarterly distribution schedules, and balance sheet account reconciliation
Prepare and review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP
Present financial reports to senior leadership
Support decision making with financial analysis and respond to ad-hoc requests
Work cross functionally with the risk department to ensure compliance with internal controls
Support internal/external audits
Actively contribute to special projects and process improvements to enhance current accounting practices
Manage tight deadlines and conflicting priorities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
5+ years of stable work experience in accounting
Experience with month-end close, financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Great attitude and team player
Willingness to learn, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with others
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other departments
Base salary + discretionary bonus
