Our client, a top-tier private equity firm, is seeking to add a
Private Equity Associate
to its Chicago-based investment team. This individual will work closely with senior associates and principals on the evaluation of new investment opportunities and the ongoing management of portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct industry and market research and prepare materials to support potential investment recommendations
Perform detailed financial analysis and build robust financial models to support transaction structuring and investment decisions
Support due diligence efforts, including business diligence, risk assessment, and coordination with external advisors
Assist with performance analysis and materials used in negotiations and investment committee discussions
Monitor existing portfolio companies, including operating and financial performance tracking
Identify acquisition targets and support new investment sourcing and financial planning initiatives
Facilitate cross-functional communication across investment, operations, and senior leadership teams
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a reputable university
Minimum of 2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or leveraged finance
Strong financial modeling expertise, including three-statement models, DCFs, and LBOs
Transaction experience in M&A, industrials coverage, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, or restructuring preferred
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
