Senior Manager of Tax - Hybrid - Dallas (200k-225k + Bonus)
LHH is seeking a Senior Manager of Tax on behalf of a global, investment-focused organization that manages a large portfolio of high-value assets while supporting complex cross-border transactions, partnership structures, and capital markets activity. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in international tax structuring and compliance within the aviation industry, along with the ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on. This role is designed as a key leadership position within the tax function and is part of a long‑term succession plan, with meaningful opportunity for growth over the next several years.
Job Responsibilities
Lead tax structuring, planning, and compliance for a global aviation leasing and finance platform
Develop, implement, and monitor tax strategies to optimize tax efficiency while managing risk
Oversee domestic and international tax compliance, including partnership and corporate filings
Supervise internal staff and manage third‑party service providers responsible for recurring tax filings (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
Review and support filings related to international requirements such as VAT, GST, FATCA, and FBAR
Advise legal and capital markets teams on tax considerations related to aircraft acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and lease transactions
Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams on transaction structuring, tax accounting matters, and lifecycle events
Review tax provision calculations for entities operating across multiple jurisdictions
Assist with detailed tax preparation and analysis as needed, maintaining a hands‑on approach
Correspond with tax authorities regarding notices, audits, and inquiries
Monitor changes in U.S. and international tax laws and communicate impacts to stakeholders
Support succession planning and continuity within the tax leadership function
Job Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of progressive tax experience within public accounting and/or aviation finance, with a strong emphasis on aviation leasing transactions
Deep knowledge of U.S. and international partnership and corporate tax, including private investment funds and special purpose vehicles
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
CPA and/or Master’s degree in Taxation strongly preferred
Prior experience with a Big 4 or large national accounting firm preferred
Proven ability to manage complex workloads with minimal supervision
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
High attention to detail, strong judgment, and a collaborative working style
Willingness to remain hands‑on and support detailed analytical and preparation work
Comfortable working within a global organization spanning multiple time zones
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power BI), tax research tools, and document management systems
