Early-stage deep tech VC firm is looking for an Office Manager to oversee their unique 5-story office space. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small firm with an impressive portfolio, including 16 unicorns, and set the tone of the office space for the team, founders, and guests. In this role, you'll manage all core office operations, maintaining a welcoming and productive space, restocking kitchen and supplies, handling mail and packages, coordinating with vendors, and implementing organizational systems. You'll also support event coordination and guest hosting—preparing the guest room for visiting founders and investors, managing the event calendar, working with stakeholders who want to use the space, and coordinating cleaners, catering, and setup for meetings and gatherings. Someone who thrives on details and organization and cares deeply about creating harmony in a space, understanding that productivity and mindset are elevated in a clean, thoughtfully managed environment. Must be systems-oriented with strong project management skills and have experience managing an office. This is an in-office role based in San Francisco near the Castro. 120-135K+ DOE + carry, benefits, private chef, 401k, and flexible PTO. Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day office operations to ensure a clean, organized, welcoming, and highly functional work environment.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries, including recycling and general upkeep of shared spaces.
Maintain office supplies and kitchen inventory through regular restocking and organization.
Care for the office space with attention to detail, proactively identifying improvements that support employee comfort, productivity, and flow.
Support on-site events and guest hosting by assisting with setup, coordination, and on-the-ground logistics.
Oversee the company events calendar to avoid conflicts and ensure team visibility.
Coordinate and manage office vendors, including cleaners and service providers, before and after meetings or events.
Implement and maintain systems, processes, and documentation that improve office efficiency and organization.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Office Manager or similar role in VC, startups, or hospitality.
Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of organization and pride in maintaining a polished, well-functioning space.
Demonstrates care for workplace harmony and understands the impact of a clean, inviting environment on productivity and mindset.
Systems-oriented with experience using organizational tools, spreadsheets, and project management platforms.
Energetic, proactive, and personable, with the ability to anticipate needs and take initiative.
Flexible with schedule, including the ability to stay late or support occasional weekend events when required.
Comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting, carrying boxes, navigating stairs, and moving throughout the workspace as needed.
Proficient in common workplace tools such as G Suite, Notion, and project management software.
