Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator Location:

Brockton, MA

Compensation:

$65,000 base salary

Role Summary The EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting a safe, compliant, and health-focused workplace across all facility operations. This role helps establish safety expectations, ensures regulatory adherence, and promotes active engagement in hazard prevention. The individual will partner with teams across production, maintenance, and leadership to continually strengthen the site's safety culture and minimize risk.

This role will be the most senior EHS professional onsite and will partner while the facility expands its operations and goes through additional efforts for modernization.

Primary Responsibilities

Administer and enhance facility safety programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Complete required reports, documentation, and filings within mandated timelines.

Conduct routine walkthroughs, assessments, and audits to identify safety risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Support or lead investigations related to workplace injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

Perform root-cause analyses and collaborate with supervisors to implement sustainable corrective measures.

Track and analyze incident trends to guide future program priorities.

Facilitate safety-related training sessions, including new hire orientation and periodic refresher courses.

Maintain organized safety records, training logs, SDS documentation, and incident summaries.

Assist in developing employees who contribute to safety initiatives across the facility.

Conduct ergonomic reviews and assist with role rotation planning to reduce strain and repetitive-motion risks.

Support ongoing monitoring of environmental conditions and workplace hygiene programs.

Participate in internal health and safety assessments and ensure that findings are addressed.

Manage updates to the Emergency Action Plan and coordinate evacuation or emergency response drills.

Work with contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with site safety expectations.

Facilitate workers’ compensation claim submissions and associated communication with internal stakeholders.

Maintain accurate tracking of safety metrics and generate routine KPI reports for leadership review.

Time Allocation

60%: On the production and warehouse floor conducting coaching, hazard recognition, and employee engagement.

40%: Administrative tasks, documentation, reporting, planning, and training.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to influence and coach employees at all levels.

Organized, self-directed, and capable of managing several tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Demonstrated analytical ability to interpret safety data and identify trends.

Ability to work flexible schedules when necessary.

Comfortable working in environments that may be hot, cold, humid, or dusty.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

English fluency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Experience within food production, manufacturing, or a similar setting.

First Aid/CPR or emergency response certification.

Strong attention to detail and high level of professionalism when handling sensitive information.
