Director of Air and Ocean Sales
Location : Texas (Houston, Dallas, or major Texas market)
Base Pay Range $90,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Role Overview
Senior individual contributor role focused on
new business acquisition
in air and ocean freight
Ownership of new account development across Texas and aligned trade lanes
Authority to commercialise a book of relationships and pre-existing customer connections, where contractually permitted
Direct responsibility for pipeline development, client conversion, and long‑term revenue growth
Key Responsibilities
Win new air and ocean freight business across import and export markets
Leverage existing industry relationships to attract new accounts and expand market presence
Engage decision‑makers across procurement, supply chain, logistics, and operations
Develop and execute a disciplined new business sales strategy aligned with margin and yield targets
Collaborate with operations and leadership to ensure service delivery, retention, and account longevity
Required Experience
Proven track record in
air and ocean freight sales
within a freight forwarding or logistics environment
Demonstrated history of winning new business, not account servicing only
Established book of relationships and the ability to open doors with new customers
Strong understanding of international freight pricing, margins, and commercial structuring
Hunter profile with the credibility to operate autonomously at senior level
Compensation and Commercial Structure
Competitive base salary , positioned above current market standards for experienced freight sales professionals
Above‑market, uncapped commission plan
