Position Summary
The Accounting Manager - Reporting will serve as a key leader within the corporate accounting function, reporting to the AVP of Financial Reporting. This individual will be responsible for overseeing accounting records, internal financial statements, and providing accounting support and analysis for general and administrative expenses, intercompany activity, and consolidated reporting across multiple entities.
In addition to managing the monthly close process, this role will play a pivotal part in modernizing internal reporting, streamlining close activities, and shifting the team's focus toward analysis, communication of results, and proactive business support. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with a collaborative, process‑improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the monthly close process, including ownership of the close and reporting calendars, deliverables, journal entry review, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting through effective management of month-end activities and cross‑functional coordination
Lead process improvement initiatives to shorten close timelines, improve reporting quality, and strengthen internal controls
Manage financial statement consolidations and ensure accurate intercompany accounting across multiple legal entities
Act as the subject matter expert for intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation methodologies
Provide leadership, coaching, and development support to Senior and Staff Accountants across G&A expense and consolidation teams
Maintain strong governance over accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and SOX compliance efforts
Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to align controllership objectives with broader corporate goals and drive employee engagement
Support internal and external audits, including preparation, review, and coordination of audit schedules and reconciliations
Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects within the Controllership organization
Perform ad‑hoc financial analyses and reporting to support management decision‑making
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years of people management or team leadership experience
Strong expertise in multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
In‑depth knowledge of internal controls, audit processes, and compliance requirements
Financial services and/or broker‑dealer industry experience preferred
Experience with Oracle Financials and advanced Excel skills a plus
