Degree Level: Doctorate Degree. Rank: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. 12‑month salaried faculty appointment with attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals.

Responsibilities

Clinical: Participate in inpatient general cardiology consult service, non‑invasive call & coverage, read EKGs and stress tests, and optionally perform echo lab, transesophageal echocardiography, and stress test readings if certified. Conduct outpatient clinics for USF Health, diagnose and treat cardiovascular disorders, perform patient exams, order diagnostic testing, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, coordinate referrals, conduct screenings, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with patients and staff. Report to a Chair or appropriate higher‑level administrator.

Teaching: Conduct didactic teaching and mentoring of medical and/or graduate students, residents, and/or post‑doctoral fellows. Participate in research, service, and related administrative activities. Provide academic advising.

Leadership: May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Qualifications – Minimum

Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

For Associate or Full Professor – have produced creative work, professional writing or research in reputable journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

Expertise in hypertension management or vascular disease, to lead a resistant hypertension program or a medical vascular program.

Candidates with expertise in sports cardiology are encouraged to apply.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. Maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed.

Preferred

Teaching experience with students/residents, experience in administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices, and/or clinical research/scholarship.

Level II certification in Echocardiography.

Expertise in adult non‑invasive assessment of heart disease, including surface echo, trans‑esophageal echocardiography, stress echo, and adult congenital heart disease.

Experience with exercise testing, ECG interpretation, and attendance in a coronary intensive care unit or similar environment. Two years of experience in Non‑Invasive Cardiology preferred.

MUST BE BOARD CERTIFIED/ELIGIBLE IN: General Cardiology.
