Senior Data Scientist

PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. Merchants receive an end‑to‑end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, instant access to funds, and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. Consumers can engage in cross‑border shopping, and merchants can extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross‑border trade.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Drive best practices in data science, ensuring data quality and integrity in all processes.
Mentor and guide junior data scientists.
Stay updated with the latest trends in data science.
Qualifications
3+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications
Develop, refine, and implement credit risk strategies using advanced analytics and unit economics to guide smart, profitable lending decisions.
Take ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to credit risk for new accounts and applications.
Monitor key portfolio metrics and segment‑level performance to identify and address emerging credit risks proactively.
Partner cross‑functionally with Machine Learning, Fraud, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Bank Partners, and more to align risk strategies with customer and business objectives.
Effectively communicate complex findings and strategy recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Lead end‑to‑end project execution with minimal assistance as a credit risk expert.
Keep up‑to‑date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks related to commercial lending.
Compensation The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850.
