Key Responsibilities Business Development
Lead team efforts for marketing and strategy development.
Identify prospects, develop proposals, prepare client presentations, and manage project budgeting and contracting.
Accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance.
Project Management
Interact with assigned clients and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities.
Support the development of market business plans, client engagement strategies, and leverage internal resources to expand market footprint.
Project Execution
Oversee engineering managers and develop project performance goals.
Engage with internal teams and owner representatives, performing project budgeting, invoicing, and payment management.
Lead performance reviews for assigned projects.
Staff Management
Develop team performance through mentoring, coaching, and training recommendations.
Identify and develop new talent for the Black & Veatch team.
Management Responsibilities Acts as a project manager and oversees a project team, with composition varying by project.
Preferred Qualifications
20+ years of active water/wastewater experience with leadership in the industrial sector.
Professional Engineering license and Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
Strong understanding of budgets and financial metrics.
Contract negotiation skills and knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. All applicants must complete required pre‑employment checks (background, drug screen, motor vehicle records).
Certifications None specified.
Work Environment / Physical Demands Typical office and construction environments, extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards (electric currents, scaffolding, chemicals), and physical demands including lifting up to 40 lb.
