Summary:

The Director of Eligibility & Patient Access is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Patient Access service centers which includes, but is not limited to, scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling. The Director is also responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures which are in alignment with revenue cycle best practices.

Responsibilities

Organizes, plans, and manages the daily scheduling, registration, admission, and financial clearance processes for the Jackson Health System.

Develops short and long term operational goals that align with the Revenue Cycle departmental key performance indicators.

Works directly with Revenue Cycle leadership and Hospital Administration teams in a collaborative manner to establish and implement best practices.

Sets achievable and measurable goals for subordinates and reviews individual performance in comparison to key performance indicator target goals.

Ensures revenue cycle initiatives have a methodical approach for implementation and follow‑up; this includes, but is not limited to, addressing issues in a timely manner.

Adheres to, and enforces all hospital policies and procedures in accordance to regulatory guidelines; and ensures policies are evaluated routinely to continually improve operations and maintain compliance with regulatory entities.

Mentors direct reports and appropriately delegates operational responsibility.

Ensures the highest quality of customer service standards are implemented in all areas.

Maintains strict control and accountability for cash collections.

Operates within department budget and manages staff levels to ensure adequate coverage within allocated FTE hours.

Performs all other related job duties as assigned.

Experience

Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience.

Management experience is required.

Education Bachelor’s degree in related field is strongly preferred.

Credentials Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
