Job Details

The Tax Manager will lead and manage multiple tax engagements, review individual and business tax returns, oversee staff deliverables, and drive quality across client service areas. This role includes training and developing staff, supporting business development efforts, reviewing financial statements and tax planning projects, and researching complex technical issues. This manager will also help set departmental goals and contribute to firm‑wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead multiple tax engagements and oversee the preparation of complex returns

Review individual, partnership, and corporate tax filings

Develop and maintain client relationships; assist with proposals and quotes

Support business development and firm‑wide marketing initiatives

Provide training, review work, and develop senior/staff accountants

Research technical tax matters and prepare memoranda or IRS correspondence

Manage client billing and follow up on outstanding invoices

Represent the firm professionally in community and industry activities

Utilize current tax/accounting software (ProSystem’s experience preferred)

Requirements

Associate degree in Accounting/Finance; BA/BS preferred

5+ years of tax/accounting in a CPA firm

Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills

Proficient in Excel and Word

Experience with ProSystem’s and QuickBooks a plus

CPA

Strong communication skills; high attention to detail
