Role Description This is a full‑time Home of Record (HOR) based worldwide deployable Fixed Wing Pilot in Command position. Serves as DHC‑8 Pilot in Command and, when required, as Second in Command. Plans flight assignments and obtains information regarding purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures, and special instructions.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain aircraft currency and proficiency in accordance with government and DoS INLA guidance.

Deploy routinely OCONUS and occasionally CONUS to support worldwide operations, anticipating 180 days or more TDY annually, to potentially remote and/or austere environments.

Prepare and supervise flight planning, considering altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight and balance, cruise performance, airport facilities, and navigation aids to ensure a proper flight kit is aboard.

Verify aircraft airworthiness, inspections, and maintenance status; confirm discrepancies are corrected or deferred in accordance with the MEL as applicable.

Supervise or conduct preflight inspection, aircraft preparation, loading, distribution, and security of passengers, baggage, and cargo; ensure survival and emergency equipment are aboard when required.

Ensure weight and balance limits are met, complete and submit required documentation: Aircraft Flight Maintenance Log, Load Manifest, and Discrepancy Record.

Retain final responsibility for logging flight time, filing closing flight plans, and ensuring accuracy of flight and duty time records.

Oversee the reporting and recording of maintenance discrepancies, including when maintenance occurs away from the principal operating base.

Maintain safety and ramp security during passenger boarding and deplaning.

Maintain professional standards, including adequate rest and proper appearance.

Delegate functions as appropriate while retaining overall responsibility.

Perform other aviation‑related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

1,500 total fixed‑wing flight hours including 500 hours of turbine engine time.

FAA Commercial and Instrument Airman's Certificate (Airplane, MEL).

FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.

Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.

DHC‑8 type rating.

Within 90 days of integration, complete DHC‑8 Readiness Level RL training.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 180 days or more annually; schedule may vary monthly.

Minimum 300 hours multi‑engine pilot‑in‑command PIC time.

Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

OCONUS – Host Nation equivalent certifications in lieu of FAA certifications.

Previous military FW flight training qualification or civilian equivalent.

Spanish Level L‑2, R‑2 required in LATAM programs.

Preferred Qualifications

FAA CFI‑CFII‑MEI.

Documented Functional Check Pilot (FCP) Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) training with Maintenance Evaluator designation.

Prior military pilot and/or pilot support on the DoS INLA program.

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Have an active U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
