We are the premier Pharmacy Benefits Management solution!# **Job Description****Summary**The Principal, Business Development plays a key role in driving growth and expanding MedImpact’s non-core PBM solutions, with a focus on both existing clients and new business development. This individual is responsible for identifying target opportunities, developing market strategies, and closing new business with health plans, employer groups, brokers, consultants, and other healthcare partners. The Principal, Business Development leverages deep industry experience, strong business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to position MedImpact as a valuable PBM partner.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with organizational goals for growth and client retention.* Identify and qualify new business opportunities across target segments (employers, TPAs, health plans, government programs, etc.).* Lead all stages of the sales cycle—from prospecting and pipeline development through proposal creation and deal closure.* Collaborate with internal teams (clinical, operations, account management, finance) to serve as a product subject matter expert.* Build and maintain strong relationships with benefits consultants, brokers, and channel partners.* Represent the organization at conferences, client meetings, finalist meetings, and industry events to promote brand awareness.* Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory developments impacting PBM and broader healthcare markets.* Provide strategic insights to leadership on product innovation, client needs, and go-to-market strategies.**Supervisory Responsibilities**
Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.
**Client Responsibilities**This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).
One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.**Qualifications**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
