Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated
Accountant
to support the financial operations of our growing construction company in Miami. This role is ideal for an entry‑level accounting professional who is eager to gain hands‑on experience in construction accounting, job costing, and financial reporting while working closely with senior accounting staff and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with
accounts payable and accounts receivable , including invoice processing and payment tracking
Support
job cost accounting , ensuring costs are accurately recorded by project
Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and general ledger accounts
Assist with
monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close
processes
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Help prepare financial reports, schedules, and audit documentation
Track subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and compliance documentation
Assist with payroll processing and expense reports as needed
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams regarding billing and payments
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or related field
1–2 years of accounting experience (construction or job costing experience a plus)
Basic understanding of
GAAP
principles
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of
Procore
is a plus but not required
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or
Foundation ) preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Good communication and teamwork skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
is a plus
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
Construction accounting or job cost tracking
Familiarity with WIP, AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor compliance
Experience working with project managers or field teams
