This teammate provides ongoing support to the Joint Commission-certified Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) program. Assists with program direction and coordination of the CSC, including quality assurance and maintaining Joint Commission certification, Department of Public Health Designation, and Get with the Guidelines Quality Award Status.

Essential Functions

Functions as a clinical nursing expert in the delivery of stroke care.

Utilizes medical records to abstract stroke data both manually and electronically for quality review and certification programs.

Assists with identifying and analyzing system barriers to the provision of stroke patient care, and develops a plan to resolve such barriers in collaboration with stroke leadership.

Provides feedback and outreach to EMS as required by the Joint Commission.

Responsible for hospital-wide stroke education program for nurses, rehabilitation professionals, care coordination, social work, and environmental services as required by the Joint Commission.

Assists with preparation for CSC Joint Commission visits.

Maintains updated knowledge of all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Nurse required

This role cannot accept experience in lieu of a degree

Massachusetts Registered Nurse required

Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) - American Board of Neuroscience Nurses (ABNN) preferred

Experience as a Neuroscience RN, preferably in the ICU setting 5-7 years strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with quality improvement in a hospital setting preferred

Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required

Computer literacy including PowerPoint and Excel

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Working Conditions

M-F Eastern Business hours required

Onsite Hybrid model
