About This Role Consertus has an exciting full‑time opportunity in Los Angeles, CA for an experienced

Cost Engineer / Cost & Schedule Analyst

supporting LA Metro’s Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods (RCN) Program. The Cost/Schedule Analyst supports cost and scheduling activities across capital projects and is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing cost, budget, and schedule performance for projects of varying complexity.

Key Responsibilities

Support the preparation of cost‑reduction recommendations, including value engineering and risk assessment inputs to improve project cost effectiveness.

Assist in establishing the schedule sequencing for design, procurement, bidding, and award of construction and professional services contracts to achieve on‑time delivery.

Analyze schedule risks and develop alternatives and expected outcomes to mitigate potential delays and reduce exposure to schedule‑driven impacts.

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including logic ties and activity relationships, to optimize contract interfaces and accurately forecast project completion.

Apply quantitative models and performance metrics to support performance measurement reporting, budget and schedule forecasting, and program‑level visibility.

Coordinate and support “what‑if” scenario planning (sensitivity analysis) to mitigate cost overruns and schedule delays; identify opportunities to accelerate delivery without increasing cost.

Support Project Management with time impact analyses, special studies, and cost/schedule forecasts; assist with evaluation of schedule impacts and potential claims.

Review cost and schedule deliverables and provide recommendations to strengthen project controls and decision‑making.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or business

7–10 years of relevant experience performing project cost and scheduling work in Rail & Transit

Proficiency with Primavera, FIS (Financial Information System), EcoSys, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle P6, and Microsoft Project

Strong technical skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, graphics, database management, and word processing software

Working Hours & Location Full‑time, exempt role with standard business hours. This is a hybrid position requiring 3–4 days per week onsite in Los Angeles, CA, with the remaining time worked remotely.

Compensation Range $145,600 – $156,000 annually; Eligible for Bonus.
