Software Engineering Manager – Boeing
Boeing invites a Software Engineering Manager to lead the B-52J software team in Oklahoma City.
Responsibilities
Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on program business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Identifies opportunities to support enterprise initiatives and effectively manages risk on the program
Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics
Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
Manages, develops, and motivates employees
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience with software development
3+ years of experience as a technical leader or manager of a software development or product deployment team
In‑depth knowledge of the entire SDLC process including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post‑Start)
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of the SAFe framework and Agile software development methodologies
Experience with flight software or simulation programs and/or user interface
Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, configuration management, security analysis and cloud computing
Familiarity with developing commercial or military safety‑critical flight or tools software (DO‑178/DO‑331, MIL‑HDBK‑516C)
Experience working in an IPT structure as part of a larger cross‑functional product team
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Pay & Benefits Competitive base pay of $149,600 – $202,400; variable compensation; health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life insurance, disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off.
Security Clearance U.S. citizenship required; Secret clearance required Post‑Start.
