Case Coordinator – Brooklyn Pretrial Services
Job Summary
CASES is seeking a Case Coordinator to support participants in the Supervised Release Program. The Coordinator conducts supervision orientation meetings, monitors compliance with supervision appointments and court appearances, assesses ongoing service needs, and develops collaborative service plans. The role is based in the Brooklyn Community Office with fieldwork throughout NYC.
Responsibilities
Provide supervision and community-based services to a caseload of pretrial participants.
Conduct rapid orientation meetings within 24–48 hours of release to review supervision conditions and communication methods.
Work collaboratively with courts and pretrial staff to facilitate participants’ successful completion of mandated appointments and court appearances.
Review legal and court screening documentation and analyze offending behavior patterns to identify supports that reduce future arrests.
Conduct ongoing service needs assessments to examine psychosocial needs, including mental and substance use disorders, engagement, and supervision continuity.
Link participants to treatment based on eligibility and preferences and provide escort to community services.
Maintain the timely flow of community outreach and case management activities to meet program goals.
Use motivational interviewing and problem‑solving techniques to motivate and engage individuals in needed change.
Provide all services in a gender‑responsive, trauma‑informed manner adhering to risk‑need‑responsivity principles.
Maintain collaborative relationships with community providers across housing, health, legal, and vocational services.
Report hazards or unsafe conditions to appropriate staff or supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with 1–2 years of human services experience, or 3 years’ experience working with individuals with substance use, co‑occurring mental health disorders and criminal justice system involvement.
Extensive knowledge of community treatment, support services and resources.
Knowledge of the criminal justice system, court processes and alternative to detention/incarceration services.
Experience using databases such as Salesforce.
Spanish speaking preferred.
Individuals with lived experience strongly encouraged to apply.
Salary & Hours Salary : $59,410 per year
Shift Hours : Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (35 hours per week)
Location 151 Lawrence Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11201. The office is easily accessible by public transportation.
