The Opportunity:
ML6 has partnered with a first-class manufacturing organization in their search for a dynamic Business Controller to join their rapidly growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven finance professional to make a real impact
partnering directly with divisional and plant leadership to shape strategy, optimize performance, and influence key business decisions. The Business Controller will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial operations, leading cost and inventory management, and championing continuous improvement across the division. What You'll Be Doing:
Serve as the primary financial partner to the Divisional Controller, providing analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations to drive divisional performance. Act as the liaison between plant finance teams and corporate leadership to ensure financial accuracy, alignment, and consistency across the division. Consolidate and analyze plant-level financial results, including production efficiency, absorption, margins, and key operational KPIs. Oversee standard cost maintenance, inventory valuation, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis. Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and audit requirements. Manage capital expenditure (CapEx) proposals, tracking, forecasting, and post-implementation reviews. Oversee working capital, including inventory, accruals, and customer deposits, ensuring effective financial management. Lead, develop, and mentor plant finance teams to foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance. Supervise accounting operations to ensure consistency in processes, reporting, systems, and internal controls across both plants. Support commercial decisions through pricing analysis, cost modeling, and scenario planning. Identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the division. Partner in sales forecasting, considering manufacturing capacity and operational constraints to maximize profitability. Conduct and oversee audits, inventory verifications, and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and corrective action where needed. Promptly report material business changes, asset impairments, or potential liabilities as required.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
8+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, in a manufacturing environment Bachelors Degree in Accounting Experience with job costing systems is preferred Experience with ERP or software implementation CPA and/or MBA or candidate preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Ability to quickly learn new technology and applications Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
