Insight Global is searching seeking a hands-on financial professional to join our clients team as a Controller (3+ years experience) or Senior Staff Accountant (5+ years experience). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, independent environment and prefers consulting or direct contribution over people management. You will work closely with a junior staff accountant and operational staff, focusing on financial operations, reporting, and process improvement. This person will on a 3 to 6 month contract that has potential to hire or convert. This role would start fully onsite with opportunity to move to a hybrid work environment. There are about 20 people in the office and this individual will be working alongside a junior staff accountant. This individual will spend 70% of the day working independently and about 30% interacting with the junior staff accountant or other accounting staff.

Responsibilities General Ledger & Financial Operations: Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, inventory, and AR. Lead month-end and year-end close (calendar year; field work in third week of March). Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes. Support independent audit and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. Implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls. Handle treasury functions, cash forecasting, collections, and supplier payments. Build out costing structures and margin analysis.

Systems & Technology: Utilize and troubleshoot accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks Desktop). Leverage technology to achieve financial goals and streamline processes.

Collaboration & Consulting: Communicate accounting concepts and results to stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff; no direct people management required.

Reporting & Communication: Prepare financial reporting packages for leadership, board, and lenders. Develop clear financial metrics, KPIs, and communication materials. Maintain attention to detail and meet internal, external, and regulatory deadlines.

Special Projects: Support ad hoc projects and contribute to strategic business initiatives.

Desired Skills and Experience: At least 3 years as a Controller or 5+ years of experience as a Senior Staff Accountant Proficient in NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Excel Strong technical accounting skills (GAAP knowledge preferred) Hands on experience + ability to do hands on work over managing people

Plusses : Manufacturing experience Bachelors / Masters degree

Compensation: $55/hr to $90/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
